All wood construction features the canard wing. In addition to it being a fast and efficient airplane, the canard design makes the plane stall resistant. When the Long EZ begins to stall, it drops its nose, gains speed and begins to fly again. Combine outstanding performance with ultra modern styling, this plane will get lots of attention at the flying field. The pusher design might also be a good candidate for a aerial photography. The cameras view will not be obstructed by the engine and prop.   Description of the kit: Entire kit is built from wood, standard all wood built-up makes it light and strong not mentioning easy to modify and make repairs. Wings are removable, secured and joint by aluminum tube. Entire kit is well covered in heat shrink covering similar to monokote. Fiberglass rear cowls and nose cone nicely painted to match colors of the covering. Kit comes with all needed hardware, even weight ballast is included. Sturdy aluminum landing gear is formed to shape and painted. 160 size of Long-Ez is for experienced modelers. Its size will impress most modelers at the filed. Absolutely beautiful model to own and to show off. Long-Ez - 65 equipped with functional rudders. Fiberglass cowl, nose cone and wheel pants. Magnificent quality kit! Excellent flying characteristics. This is a MUST to own kit for anybody who likes to be "out of the boxes".     Cowl is 9.5" wide at cooling cheeks and about 4.5"  from thrust line down.

08/11/2009 Just flew my airplane with excellent results. It has an OS 3500 2 stroke with an 18/10 pusher prop and perry fuel pump. Fuel tank is a 40 oz dubro, and is mid mounted at the back edge of the canopy frame. No ballast weight in the nose. Two aileron servos, one for each side. Takeoff was in about 200 ft with a smooth liftoff. I would highly recommand this airplane for experienced flyers.
07/14/2009 Very nice kit when you open the box. Once built with a OS 160 2 stroke the elevator & horizonal stab are not big enough to obtain enough lift for safe flight. Used 400 foot of runway and barly got off the ground, once it did, could not get it up to altitude and it crashed first flight.
